Year 12 Visit to Titanic Quarter
On Monday 17 December, Year 12 Geography students visited the Titanic Quarter. This was linked in with the Settlement and Urbanisation topics of their GCSE course. They first visited Mallusk Industrial Estate before heading to Queen’s Island. Our coach driver Sam was very knowledgeable and able to highlight the different areas of redevelopment in the area. The students were able to see, at first hand, the regeneration from an area of declining secondary industry to one of tourism and tertiary industries.
On leaving Titanic Quarter, the girls were able to see the changing landuse from the CBD, through the Inner city and out to the outer suburbs at Knock and Stormont.
