European Day of Languages 2019 Year 9 Poetry Competition

The European Day of Languages 2019 Year 9 Poetry Competition took place recently and is run by Queen’s University and NICILT (Northern Ireland Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research).

Pupils had to compose a poem in a language of their choice on the theme of ‘New Beginnings’ to celebrate the European Day of Languages which is held every year on the 26th of September.

Jenna Doherty and Ariana Hodgen from Glenlola Collegiate won 2nd prize in the French ‘Best use of language’ category. They both won amazon vouchers and had their names published on the NICILT website.
