Astronomy Masterclass
Learning From the Master!
The GCSE astronomers had a treat this Wednesday 11 February when the National Space Academy’s Head of Education Andy McMurray visited Glenlola to deliver an Astronomy Master-class.
With the exam coming up in May, this was the perfect chance to revise those tricky topics of celestial co-ordinates, heliocentric parallax, using the distance modulus equation and Hubble’s Law. But it wasn’t all hard work, Andy treated us to a comet cooking session which was enjoyed by all and really helped remind us what comets are; giant dirty snowballs!
