Public Speaking Success
Year 13 Glenlola pupils Anna Carberry, Zara Simpson and Jordan Rosborough competed last night in the local heat of the Soroptimists’ Public Speaking Competition.
A total of 16 pupils took part. Anna Carberry came 2nd , with a pupil from Strathearn awarded 1st place and a Regent House pupil placed 3rd. Anna spoke on the topic ‘Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire’ (W B Yeats).
Our girls gave their best performances on the night and all three were great ambassadors for the school: they were well organised for rehearsals, competed in the correct spirit and looked immaculate in their uniforms!
