Swimming Success
On Saturday 2nd March, the Junior Swim Team competed in the Ulster Grammar Schools Competition in Larne.
Amelia Urry (Year 10) became Ulster Grammar Schools Champion in the 50 Breaststroke.
Lucy Hill (Year 10) finished fourth in the 50 Backstroke
Farrah Allen (Year 10) fourth in the 50 Freestyle.
In the 50 Butterfly, Glenlola girls finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th, with Amelia winning Silver, Lucy Bronze and Farrah fourth.
These are excellent achievements, competing against all Grammar Schools in Ulster.
The Junior A relay team of Amelia Urry, Scarlett Urry, Cerys Edge and Farrah Allen won Gold and became Ulster Grammar Schools Champions in both the Freestyle and Medley Relays. In the Freestyle relay, Glenlola beat 2nd place Methody by over 3.5 seconds.
As a result of such strong performances from all of our 10 Junior girls in individual and relay events throughout Saturday morning, Glenlola won the Ulster Grammar Schools Junior Cup. The Junior Team have now won all Junior Cups available this season – The Swim Ulster Junior Firth Cup in October, The Ulster Schools Junior Cup in January and now The Ulster Grammar Schools Junior Cup this weekend. Well done, girls!
