Swimming Successes

On Friday 2 October, 3 Year 8 pupils from Glenlola Collegiate took part in the Ulster Minor Schools Swimming Championships in Ballymena. Ellie McKibbin won Gold in the 100 IM, beating her nearest rival by over 5 seconds. Ellie also won Silver in the 50m Butterfly.  Well done to all girls who took part.

Nine Glenlola Collegiate pupils also recently took part in the Inaugural Swim Ulster Championships at Aurora.

Notable performances in the Minor Section include Keira Willaims and Ellie McKibbin who both qualified for the Irish Minor Schools Championships to be held in February.

Excellent results were also achieved by the following pupils:

Ellie McKibbin: 50 Butterfly Gold, 100 Butterfly Gold, 100 IM Gold, 200 IM Gold.

Zoe Thompson: 100 Breaststroke Gold, 400 Open Free Bronze.

Zara Mulholland: 100 Breaststroke Bronze.

The School Senior Realy team consisting of Zara Mulholland, Charlotte Ward, Sarah Davidson and Zoe Thompson won Silver in both the Medlay and Freestyle Relays.
