Glenlola Explorer Scouts Cook at Crawfordsburn

Glenlola Explorer Scouts had their first outing on Saturday 7 December to Crawfordsburn Scout Centre. Their goal was to light a fire and cook a “Christmas Toastie”.  At a previous meeting they had made their own firelighters and these were used to light a fire with a sparkler – no matches allowed!

The fires were brilliant but almost too good, as can be witnessed by some of the rather overdone toasties. The girls also had to decorate a team member as a Christmas tree and make some Christmas decorations with whatever they could find.

The afternoon finished with S’mores, popcorn (also made on the open fires) and a visit to see Santa who just happened to be visiting Crawfordsburn at the time!
