Glenlola Wins ICAEW – BASE competition
Yesterday, 23 November 2016, a team of Year 14 Business Studies pupils competed in the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales – Business and Accounting Competition, Northern Ireland heats at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown and, against stiff competition from schools across Northern Ireland, they won the NI heat!
The pupils involved were:
Bethany McBride
Rachel McCord
Katherine Neill
Courtney Rodgers
Rachel Shivers
Chelsea Spiers
The event involved the teams having to analyse a pack of information about a business and come up with recommendations regarding possible proposals. They then presented these to a panel of judges who acted as the company board of directors, following which they had to answer questions on their proposals.
We are proud of our girls, who were confident and articulate and delivered a very professional and knowledgeable presentation. The judges were very impressed with them and they received extremely positive feedback.
The girls will now compete in the UK final in Birmingham on 30th June 2017.
