National Rowing Success
Two pupils from Glenlola Collegiate, Ellen Hunt & Emily Wilson, recently achieved rowing success at national level.
The girls trained hard from April to September to compete in this year’s regional rowing heats held in Coleraine. Their team won first place beating teams from all over Northern Ireland and went on to take part in the National Rowing Regatta final held in London. Competing against regional winners from England, Scotland and Wales, the girls fought hard to secure 1st place and achieve gold medals.
Their achievement was recognised by the Mayor with a reception in the town hall and the team also won a sporting award from the Ex Servicemen’s Association. Their success was very well deserved as they showed great determination, commitment and teamwork.
