Swimming Success
Before half term, our Swimming team competed against over 125 schools from across Ulster in the Swim Ulster Schools Cup and came away with considerable success.
Our Intermediate A relay team of Chloe Stewart (Year 10), Zara Reid (Year 12), Hannah Morgan (Year 11) and Grace Newell (Year 11) are Ulster Champions in the 200m Freestyle Relay. They also claimed Silver in the Medley Relay.
The individual performances of our intermediate pupils (Year 11 and 12) contributed to Glenlola winning The McMahon Intermediate Schools Cup.
On top of Chloe’s Gold and Silver in the Relay, she won 3 individual Gold medals:
- Junior 100m Breaststroke Champion,
- Junior 200m IM Champion (beating her nearest opponent by over 10 seconds) and
- Open (open to all competitors aged 12-19) 400m Freestyle Champion.
- Chloe has now been selected to represent Ulster at the Interprovincial Meet against Munster, Leinster and Connacht at the end of March in Dublin.
Just missing out on individual medals but swam excellently include:
Rachel Moore (Year 12)
Inter 100 Breaststroke – 4th place
Inter 200 IM – 4th place
Isabella Newman (Year 9)
Junior 100 Breaststroke – 4th place
Junior 200 IM – 5th place
