Pupil Recognised for Musical Achievement and Progress
Hannah McCoo Year 13 has received recognition in the ‘Trinity Talent Class of 2018’ for Musical Achievement and Progress. Trinity Talent shines a spotlight on young people in the UK who have achieved a Trinity Music qualification during 2018. Hannah has been nominated for achieving a merit in her Grade 5 piano exam by music teacher Gillian Caughey. Gillian says that Hannah only started the piano in April 2017 and has since progressed to Grade 5: “She practises for hours each day and is extremely conscientious.”
Hannah says that started piano lessons for the first time in January 2018 and sat her Grade 3 in June and her Grade 5 in December: “I’ve enjoyed the variation of the pieces between modern and old. I practise for a few hours every day. I have loved playing the piano through Trinity College London and have decided to work towards my Grade 6 – especially the ‘Progression I’ – and hope to do it in June.”
Hannah’s advice is: “If you don’t get something right immediately that’s okay! You just need to continue to practice and it’ll come eventually.”
