Library Club
Junior School pupils are encouraged to join the Library Club, which currently meets in the Library on alternate Monday afternoons at 3.30pm – see School Notices and Junior Library Club noticeboard for dates. The aim of the Library Club is to help pupils extend their appreciation of books through lively debate, creative writing and various reading projects.
Recently, club members shadowed the Carnegie Book Award. This involved reading the short-listed titles, sharing reviews with other schools on the Carnegie Award website and voting for the club members’ favourite book.
This term we will be shadowing the Northern Ireland Book Awards and Library Club members will have first opportunity to read the shortlisted titles for the Prize. This culminates with a visit to the Book Awards themselves in the Spring Term.
