Astronomy Club

In Astronomy club, a number of year 10 pupils are working towards a GCSE in Astronomy in their free time while learning about a subject that really fascinates them. They learn and develop skills for stargazing using telescopes and analyse their observations.

They also learn about the wider universe exploring stars, planets, asteroids, our place in the Galaxy and begin to answer the bigger questions when studying Cosmology. The practical element of this club is undertaken during a weekend away with telescope equipment so that the pupils receive hands on experience of observing the night skies.
